Gregory is keen to support young people in his constituency, and is pleased to invite constituents to join him for work experience to help with their CV and development.
Two students who recently completed work experience wrote about their time in his office.
After clear and easy communication with Greg’s incredibly friendly team (regarding dress code, transport and all other queries), we were welcomed at Portcullis house and provided a full tour of Parliament. Our guide gave everyone on the tour excellent historical knowledge regarding the foundations and structures of the historical building and its history. As the tour concluded, we were brought to witness the opening of the House of Commons for the day, involving key political figures such as the Speaker of the house, and the famous Black Rod. Greg’s team then took us up to the gallery as we watched the Chancellor of the Exchequer respond to various minister’s questions, and we were provided with the daily order and other insightful materials to make sense of the complex parliamentary business day. Once retrieved from the gallery, we got taken to the canteen. Here we were able to speak with another member of Greg’s team, who was able to answer all of our constituency based questions. After our lunch, we were able to witness Greg play a crucial part in the Health and Social care committee, allowing an insight into the mostly unseen areas of the political world. Finally, we were led to a lovely outside area with a great view of the River Thames and the London eye, as we got an opportunity to speak to Greg in between his incredibly busy schedule. Greg answered all the questions we had for him. From smaller questions, such as commuting as an MP, to bigger questions, such as the economy. This allowed us to understand all issues and daily roles that an MP and assistant Conservative whip has to fulfil. The day concluded with the visits to the Conservative offices and a lovely walk back through central London.
The work experience was fantastically organised, with every single member of Greg’s team making us feel incredibly comfortable and addressing any queries or worries. We were provided an incredible insight into the role different politicians play throughout Parliament, and what routes can be taken, and what different career choices entail. I would highly recommend the work experience that Greg Stafford and his team provide and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

During my day in Parliament, I was fortunate to experience a range of unique opportunities and observe fascinating discussions and debates. I began with an informative tour of Parliament and Westminster Hall, where I learned about its history and traditions. After the tour and watching the speakers' procession, I had the opportunity to witness Rachel Reeves being questioned in the House of Commons while sitting in the gallery. Following a delicious lunch in the parliamentary cafeteria, I attended the Health and Social Care Committee, where I observed Greg Stafford question the Chief Executive of the NHS. Later, within our group, I completed tasks designed to demonstrate the day-to-day responsibilities of an MP's team, before having the privilege of speaking with Greg personally. He was generous with his time, explaining the wide range of tasks he undertakes daily and helping me grasp the sheer scope of an MP's workload. We concluded the day with a visit to the Conservative office, followed by a sunny walk back across Westminster Bridge. The entire experience was exceptionally well-organised, allowing me to meet many engaging and insightful people and learn about a variety of exciting roles. It was an honour to witness the busy and dynamic atmosphere of Parliament. I finished the day feeling privileged to have had such an insightful experience and motivated to learn more about the inner workings of Parliament.
