Farnham and Bordon MP Gregory Stafford has written to the Chief Executive of housebuilder Barratt Redrow with significant concerns over the conditions at their development known as Maple Walk in Liphook.
As a part of his continued engagement with his constituents in the local community, Gregory visited the estate on Saturday (29th March 2025) - alongside Cllr Debbie Curnow-Ford and Cllr Angela Glass - to call on residents, many of whom new to the area in new-build properties.
Following his visit, however, Gregory was compelled to write to the developer after he was alarmed by the condition of much of the estate.
He later wrote in the letter to Mr Thomas:
What I saw was simply unacceptable: unfinished pavements, streetlights leaning at alarming angles, blocked drains and flooding, and potholes already forming outside brand-new homes. The quality of work is disgraceful, and it is completely unacceptable that residents are expected to live with such poor standards.
While Cllr Curnow-Ford and Cllr Glass are taking the matter up with Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council respectively, Gregory awaits a response from Barratt Homes.
