Gregory Stafford MP joined parents and family members of individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) this week in a special meeting in central Farnham.
Gregory invited those that had contacted him since his election with issues or concerns relating to their children or loved ones who continue to face difficulty with the SEND system at school and in young adulthood.
The local authorities - Surrey and Hampshire County Councils - hold the remit over the management and resourcing in SEND education, but as the local MP Gregory held the meeting to give parents the opportunity to speak with him directly so he may raise their concerns on a national level and directly with both the councils' leaderships.
The meeting, which lasted more than two hours, covered issues from early-years education to post-University life. Gregory reaffirmed his support for his constituents dealing with this matter, citing his recent letter to the Secretary of State for Education in which he expressed his significant concerns over the impact of VAT on specialist schools, including More House in Frensham.
