Broadband and Mobile Coverage

in the Farnham and Bordon constituency

Digital Infrastructure

Access to reliable and fast internet is a necessity in the 21st century. Since his election, Farnham and Bordon MP Gregory Stafford has been listening to constituents and local businesses about their issues with broadband access.

Gregory is working with companies like Openreach, CityFibre and AllPoints Fibre - all of whom are involved in connecting premises in his constituency - to address the 'gaps' in the local fibre infrastructure which in some areas leaves residents with substandard internet speeds.

Ahead of the Government's first Budget, he joined the then-Shadow Science Secretary Andrew Griffith MP in calling on Ministers to commit the original funding set aside by the Conservatives to expanding the broadband network across the United Kingdom.

In November 2024, he launched a survey on mobile coverage and internet access in Farnham and Bordon after he secured a Westminster Hall debate on rural broadband and Project Gigabit to discuss this issue in Parliament, in which he said:

"...the facility to have superfast, gigabit-enabled broadband is going to be essential, and it is essential that we reach the target by 2030. We need to ensure that those people who are living in the most rural areas are not left behind, and that with the Opposition and the Government working together, we can move forward so that every property that is able has gigabit connectivity."

Having had subsequent meetings with Ministers from the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology as well as non-executive agency Building Digital UK (BDUK), Gregory continues to work on this issue and encourages all those affected in the Farnham and Bordon constituency to get in touch with him for support.
